Imamaddin Humbatov was born on September 5, 1998, in Payiz village of Babek district, the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
Humbatov, who was a soldier of the Special Forces of the Azerbaijani Army, took part in the battles for the liberation of Khojavand during the 44-day Patriotic War that started on September 27, 2020.
Distinguished for his bravery, Humbatov was martyred while performing a combat mission during battles for the liberation of Azikh village of Khojavand district on October 20, 2020.
Under the Order signed by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on December 15, 2020, Humbatov was posthumously awarded the "For the Fatherland" medal for participating in military operations for ensuring the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and honourably fulfilling his duties while executing the tasks assigned to the military unit.
Under the Order signed by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on December 29, 2020, Humbatov was posthumously awarded the “For the Liberation of Shusha” medal for showing personal courage and heroism in military operations for the liberation of the Shusha district.
Under the Order signed by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on December 30, 2020, Humbatov was posthumously awarded the “For Military Services” medal for his merits during military operations for the liberation of the occupied Azerbaijani territories.
