| Established by the Law dated 26 November 2020, the “Hero of Patriotic War” is the highest honor given in the Republic of Azerbaijan. A special distinctive sign of the title is the “Hero of Patriotic War” Medal of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The title of “Hero of Patriotic War” is awarded for the highly professional commandership of the combat tasks set for a complete defeat of enemy forces and combat operations for the restoration of the state border of the Republic of Azerbaijan despite the deployment of enemy forces in favorable areas and their stubborn resistance during the liberation of the occupied territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as for the demonstration of personal heroism in combat operations. |
